Habiscapes excels in the restoration and/or maintenance of 'natural' areas. By understanding the special requirements of the native plant community, Habiscapes can recommend and implement restoration strategies and its attendant maintenance programs in local communities or at the private homeowner's yard.
Habiscapes has executed extensive restoration work in both Hidden Springs and SunCor’s Avimor project. We developed and implemented a strategy to restore the area to its former state and encourage new growth of the native plant community by re-introducing indigenous native plants, naturally suppressing the weeds and installing water-wise irrigation systems. In addition, a long term strategy was put in place to manage the weeds on an annual basis and supplement the native plantings with either cuttings or transplants where appropriate. Such actions will not only encourage the return of native species but will help to increase the biodiversity of the areas and ensure its overall vitality for years to come.
